Battlefield Parkway is under construction in SW Leesburg VA.When completed, Battlefield will connect Evergreen Mills Road and the Dulles Greeneway Toll Road with Route 7 and Fort Evans Road near the Outlet mall.
This major construction involves a large bridge over Tuscarora Creek and the W and OD hike/bike trail.

Southwest Access
Direct Route 7 access is especially important for Leesburg's southwestern subdivisions as long term plans for a fly over at Sycolin Road and US 15/7 Bypass do not include an interchange due to lack of land. Drivers would have to go north into town on Sycolin and turn onto Market Street to go east on Route 7.
Funding and construction for the Sycolin flyover is multiple years away.
Money, Money, MoneyThe Battlefield project is being funded primarily by the citizens of Leesburg.
The town plans to continue work on connecting Battlefield's next leg north from Fort Evans Road to Edwards Ferry Road when this section is complete.
With plans to encircle the north, east and southern portions of Leesburg, this construction leaves the portion between Evergreen Mills Road and US 15 on the town's south side through the controversial Meadowbrook property unfunded or built. Meadowbrook developers are refusing to proffer road construction money and are currently asking for building permission for a low density subdivision of by-right McMansions.
Bike Path
The roadway includes a bike path which will enable riders to travel from the Leesburg Outlet shopping area to the planned Oak Lawn commercial complex on the west side of the Toll Road.
These views are from the Kincaid Forest subdivision looking northeast.
In the distance, Loudoun County's largest and most expensive ongoing construction project continues at the Village of Leesburg at Route 7 and River Creek Parkway. The new developer funded River Creek interchange is now partially open to traffic.
