Blogger Con 2008

The Realtor blogging conference, BloggerCon 2.0 was held today at the Dulles Association of Realtors, sponsored by the Virginia Realtor's Association (VAR).

This conference is one of the first of its kind in the developing field of Realtor blogging.

The professionalism on display was truly impressive as various bloggers and technologists offered their insights of the various aspects of real estate blogging including:

  • Real Estate Blogging 101.
  • Developing a blog content plan.
  • Choosing a blog platform.
  • Tangible results.
  • Stupid Blog Tricks.
  • Search Engine Optomization.
  • Blog Analytics.
Presentations from both VAR and the National Association of Realtors (NAR) were followed by a live podcast, archived on Blogtalkradio.com/realestatezebra.

It is no secret the most popular real estate related blogs are often hysterical diatribes ranting about the housing crisis. Such fodder is useless when it comes to making a serious real estate transaction decision.

Realtor blogging blends informed opinions with individual expertise to present actionable, insightful material regarding local real estate market conditions.

Information on financing, remodeling, investing, transaction procedures and other aspects of real estate builds a database for folks facing a real estate transaction.

BloggerCon 2.0 and future conferences enable Realtor Blogging to display the in-the-field expertise that so many buyers say they crave, something the "Blame-the-government/realtors/mortgage broker" crowd sidesteps.
